WHO WE ARE

CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME NEPAL

Creative Development Programme Nepal (CDPN) is registered at district administration Office Kathmandu having branch offices in Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Kanchanpur, Achham, Kailali, Banke and Bardiya. CDPN is a professionally managed committed non profit motive non government organization active in community development, capacity building and issue based networking. The primary focus of CDPN is on the problems of the poor in their struggle to obtain a life of justice and dignity. Environment stabilization, food security, public health and empowerment of the community for self-governance are the most important components of its mission. Gender justice, natural resource management, and livelihood security are our primary areas of concern.

Working Area

° Human rights
To protect the rights of people, the ‘Creative Development Program Nepal’ has introduced different positive steps in places like Baitadi, Dadheldhura and Kanchanpur. As a result the people are now able to obtain opportunities which was previously deprived, those who are kidnapped or lost are bought home which social and political help.

° Social service
Individuals have come together, organized programs to raise a fund and provide help to the underprivileged. Different educational institutions from Kathmandu and Lalitpur have donated clothes and food to children who are left alone and forced to live in streets.

° Women empowerment
The discrimination and deprivation of basic human rights to women will be removed with the help of the government and it’s strict policies.

° Improved educational facilities
Poor and dalit students will be helped by the ‘Canadian Co-operation Operation Office Kathmandu’. This operation alongside with Nepal-American Student Help has provided the students with books, copies, stationery items with school fees.

° Various Child Program
This program has helped in the promotion of child rights by providing them education and opportunities to show their talents in sports and musical activities. Hundreds of children have been rescued from child labour at the border of Nepal and India in construction duties and provided with relief.

° Income generating schemes
To improve the living standards of the people and decrease poverty the development program has come up with two different initiations.


1. Create and promote cottage industries
This program has been promoting establishment of cottage industries to the poor and dalit to improve their economic status and to develop themselves. Pickle production, soap production, ginger production, bee keeping, bag production and small raw material production is promoted while for the poor with no land or house there are 10 small dollar shops provided to 10 families to help themselves. While 6 of the shops are helped by the CCO and 4 of them by the different local development agencies.

2. Encouraging different talents by providing platforms
Jobs are provided to the unemployed youths of the villages. If the youths don’t have any talents they are provided with different skill developing classes like technical teachings, carpentry, masonry, plumbing and jute knitting. As a result the youths are able to support themselves and their families.

° Health facilities and sanitation
This program has conducted awareness programs in Achham, Kanchanpur and Dadheldhura. Classes regarding HIV AIDS/ Reproductive health have been given to the people to help them know about the do’s and don’ts regarding the safety of their health.

With the help of UN Dental Clinic there have been dental camps in Dadheldhura, Kanchanpur and Baitadi. The Kathmandu Medical Center has also helped in awareness campaigns.

° Creative Programs
The Creative Development Program has given priority to different types of talents and organized programs in Baitadi, Dadheldhura, Accham, Babhag and Kailali. Also with the help of Nepal-American Student Help the talents of youths have been explored. A diyo was lit to emphasize the peace alongside a gesture to show the support of different people that have come together to help and nurture each other.

° Environmental awareness
The sudarpaschim part of Nepal is rich in flora. Different types of herbs and rare plants grow in these habitats. Along with promotion of forestation, tourism is also promoted and improved for adequate development and to increase the economic status of the citizens in that area.
